Have you been medically forced to discontinue competition in sport?

We know this is not where you want to be. We know you’d do just about anything to get back to playing your sport. We understand this place can feel really lonely. Know that you aren’t alone and that you don’t struggle alone. We provide free resources to help you get through this difficult transition and be able to process what you are experiencing with the help of those who understand.

Resources

We understand losing the ability to compete in the sport you love is devastating. Perhaps you feel alone, depressed, like you have lost a part of who you are. Maybe you are finding it difficult to move forward without your sport. We get it. Take a look at our research-based articles to help you experience a healthy adjustment and psychological recovery. You'll gain practical tools to help you find a meaningful way forward. Below we have linked a few articles and that are a good starting point. Click here to view all our articles.

Where to start:

Connection

We create spaces for medically retired student-athletes to come together as a community, engage with one another, and work through the ups and downs of post-retirement impact. Our online connection group meets virtually each month to decompress, share experiences, and be supported by “mentor” sidelined athletes. Not in the mood to talk just yet? Start with our Sidelined Stories podcast where you can listen in and absorb insights about the personal journeys of other medically disqualified athletes.
